Friday Favorites - White Pumpkins

I absolutely adore white pumpkins. I'm sure this comes as no surprise, seeing as how I love white everything! I love that they let you decorate for a holiday/season, and yet do it in a neutral way. The white pumpkins go really well in any house, with any color scheme. They look great with natural elements, but they also work with silvers, or gold, or rusty iron if you want to go that route. I usually start early in September with white pumpkins, and then as we get closer to Halloween I add some black elements, mostly on the porch. Then, as soon as Halloween is over, I go back to the all white, usually incorporating some organic/natural elements like pinecones or greens. I do love the white pumpkins mixed with the newer blue and green pumpkins, too, especially as we get closer to Thanksgiving. This year I started looking earlier this week and didn't find any at first, but yesterday I scored! Mini white pumpkins! That's all they had so far, so I will be back next week to get some larger white ones as well.

I love that Miss Mustard Seed mixed the white pumpkins with green apples. Such a cute idea!

I've only just started with the few mini ones I bought yesterday, but I do love having them around. Those, combined with my pumpkin candles burning 24/7, is making it feel like Fall around here....

White pumpkins with some traditional Fall colored-flowers.

I love to use the real white pumpkins where I can, both the mini boos and the larger ones, but sometimes faux is needed for various reasons. I have looked in years past and they are actually hard to find in white! I can find faux orange ones aplenty, but sometimes the white are hard to come by. Here's what I found in a quick look around. (*Please note I have included some affiliate links for your convenience).

I've also seen them periodically at Home Goods or TJ Maxx. Or you can buy an inexpensive orange one from Target or Walmart and paint them! I've seen several bloggers do this and it works well!

Happy Friday!

  1. I am a huge fan of white pumpkins as well although I haven't bought any yet. It's going to be 90 degrees again today so they would probably rot if I put them outside. I have been thinking of adding them to my urns like in the Thistlewood photo above. I love all your pretty examples and the Tone on Tone example is just perfection. Your vignette is gorgeous with the cloche...such a classic look! Enjoy your weekend!

    1. Aren't they the best Shelley? I love them! And even in the CA heat, I put pumpkins outside for months and they never rot! Usually when I throw them out the day after Thanksgiving, I feel bad because they are still in such good shape! Only in the 70s here today - wish it would stay that way:))

      Happy Weekend friend!

    1. Growing them would be ideal!! Do you know Emily of Eleven Gables? She grows the big white ones and she just posted photos on IG of them and they are so great! I'm slightly jealous:))

    1. I bet! I was lucky I found them! Yesterday I went to two different markets and none of them had any yet at all! Guess I will have to trek back to the one where I first found them!

      Happy Sunday Shannon!
