They also tend to look more refined and they also seem to look better for longer. I tried a white door one time and I had to repaint it way too often.

Giovanni @ Coastal Contract HardwareRonald Armeenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02677255939746282358noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5527952703457239385.post-34484500713744561192016-04-27T01:51:01.374-07:002016-04-27T01:51:01.374-07:00I think black doors look modern and cool, but you ...I think black doors look modern and cool, but you have to do them right. The first two photos you posted don’t sit well with me because there’s no black on the external parts of the house. If the steps were black, or if they had some statues or black pots, I think it would look really cool from an outsider's point of view. I think the first two interior photos you posted really nailed the design.

Earl Mark @ Eastway LockPatrick Armeenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09352898868909156917noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5527952703457239385.post-76155521499220868222016-03-08T11:20:55.779-08:002016-03-08T11:20:55.779-08:00I'm currently loving black painted doors in hi...I'm currently loving black painted doors in high gloss - so chic! My sis in laws cape cod, preppy home has black front doors inside and out and looks fabulous! But... The french rustic Pamela Pierce/ Patina Farm look is wood, steel, or iron.... Love both just totally different! Love both styles... !!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01909246437183201018noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5527952703457239385.post-79518702292680456292016-03-05T18:25:49.506-08:002016-03-05T18:25:49.506-08:00Thanks so much Marilyn! I've decided that the new doors will be black on the outside, but white on the inside. When I look at the photos above of the white doors, they just speak to me. Like Des (above), I just want a lighter, airier feeling to my home and black inside will do the opposite of that. So I've decided! Now I've just got to order the doors!

Sheila
xoSheila @ Maison de Cinqhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03285114069646866391noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5527952703457239385.post-10106116532359159712016-03-04T20:09:55.928-08:002016-03-04T20:09:55.928-08:00Sheila,

I'm not sure what I'd do if faced with a new door, able to choose whatever finish I'd want. Sorry not to be more help. I have a dear friend with a beautiful black door on the front. For the life of me I can't recall if it's painted black inside as well.
I love your style so I'm sure you'll make the right decision for your home.
KarenKarenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08064699521293763744noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5527952703457239385.post-84481818444224644372016-03-04T11:02:24.839-08:002016-03-04T11:02:24.839-08:00We recently painted our front doors black, inside ...We recently painted our front doors black, inside and out and I love the look too! My doors are wood and antique so painting them is not even an option I would consider.
~DesDeseraehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12548332335063152792noreply@blogger.com
